I spent literally half the day detailing Jolene the Sunbird . This thing was FILTHY.
The wheels still need some work as there is some caked on brake dust that I can’t seem to remove. And, I am going to look into eventually having the seats and carpets shampooed.
I did a wash and wax, though, and that 28-year-old paint actually shines up pretty well!
She’s full of assorted dents and dings and scratches, but nothing major. And, the best part of all: no rust. Nada. Zilch. I plan to keep it that way. No winter driving for this beast.
Up next is a windshield replacement to the tune of $ 245.00. And no, insurance won’t cover it, because it was broken when I got the car. Sigh.

Well done. I haven’t seen one of these looking that good in at least 20 years.

Wow that looks shockingly good especially the paint!

The sunbird reminds me a lot of the early 90's MX-6 2 door coupe. Most were powered by a 2..3L 3 valve motor and a fragile as glass 5 speed.

Looks pretty good all cleaned up! It needs the Sunbird GT front end with half-pop-up headlights though! :P

God, I miss those dashboard switches for the headlights and wipers. No looking, just slap them to activate.

A Mazda 6 and a CX-5 together. That looks a lot like my house.
